Patricia Mayfield

Winner of Regional and International art awards, Patricia Mayfield has exhibited her oils and mixed media throughout the West Coast, Nevada, and Hawaii. Mayfield's paintings are included in many private and corporate collections.

Patricia Mayfield was born in Seattle, Washington. Encouraged at an early age in art, she began doing portraits. At 13, her Presidential Portraits won first place in California for two consecutive years in a regional contest on patriotic themes.

Mayfield studied in the mid 70's with Arizona Highway's feature artist, Matt Madsen. While studying with Madsen, she learned to capture the delicate beauty and moods of various landscapes; developing a realistic style with soft subtle displays of light and color.

Mayfield has been an art teacher and a medical illustrator for Loma Linda University School of Health. She is now enjoying painting and living in Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest. She is writing children's books, traveling, and doing research along with experimenting with various media and techniques to best capture the essence of her subject. Patricia Mayfield's present theme is 'Look at the World in an Entirely Different Light'-- Fine Art with holographic pigments enhanced with natural gemstones.
